History Lesson Familia Garcia coffee all started with farm owner Antonio Wander Garcia’s grandfather Alexandre Garcia Capelo, who was a small coffee producer. Antonio Wander Garcia, is an agricultural engineer and researcher in coffee fertility and coffee nutrition, following in the footsteps of his father, he became a producer who dedicated his life to building upon his knowledge and produce coffee.
Following family tradition, Antonio is now helped by his son André Luiz Alvarenga Garcia, who is also an agricultural engineer. He specializes in pruning and producing.
So clearly they have a rock-solid family operation going on and they're laser-focused on improving the living conditions of all workers and their families. Over time, the green areas were expanded, with insulation and trees being planted along the springs. They have also adopted practices to include the use of organic matter to revitalize the coffee plantation, reducing the use of agrochemicals and constantly testing new crops' resistance to rust, drought and nematodes.
